About

Our Philosophy

Think of a time when you saw a photo or film, and you said, “wow, that hits.” Why was that?

There’s a gap between “what is” and “what should be.” Photojournalistic and Documentarian work stays true to “what is.” Editorial and Commercial work leans more towards “what should be.” Both are able to evoke feelings like the one you had.

However, only the “what is” is able to touch your heart – going beyond mere feeling – because it’s a part of you. It’s your mom, your dad, your childhood music, your book, your pen… whoever and whatever it is.

For wedding photographers and film makers… our job is to make sure our work ‘hits you.’ Our intuition, body language, direction, and restraint are required throughout a wedding day. Keeping this balance is intricate because you two, your families, and your guests, all have high expectations for your appearance.
Yet, none of you want to chase the image. You want the image to chase you. Therefore, the photographer’s proactivity and emotional intelligence is a must. We must predict (project), react (respond), or create (compose) images by leveraging the real environments and personalities around us… and be rather quick about it.

And finally, images and films that ‘hit the hardest’ are often inexplicable; They are momentary and irreproducible. They go beyond the regular, ceremonious moments of walking down the aisle – and into the deeply human expressions portrayed in your once-in-a-lifetime photos and films.
